Jody Wilson
Jody Wilson will be introduce The Ragtime Project - In presentation 1. She will tease an upcoming community scholarship initiative, preview the future website, and share several previously unknown rags rediscovered through her research. None of these pieces have been heard in over a century, and Isaiah Burton will perform them live throughout the presentation.
Presentation 2, Make Money: Mining the H. Kirkus Dugdale Co. Catalog (working title), will feature Miss Maybell and Charlie Judkins, whose new Rivermont album, Under the Midnight Moon: Unrecorded Songs of the 1890s–1920s. She will explore one of America’s most prolific song-poem publishers, from its house composers and enormous catalog to the mail fraud suit that made the company infamous. Along the way, Miss Maybell and Charlie will perform selections from Dugdale’s catalog, including songs and instrumentals recovered from offsite storage at the Library of Congress that have not been heard in more than 100 years.
